Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, President of Alexandria University, Prof. Dr. Saeed Mohamed Abdel Qader Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Asaad El Kiki, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education – Abu Qir, and Prof. Dr. Islam Amin Zaki Abdel Wakil, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty organized a symposium titled Egyptian Championships in Ramadan, aiming to raise awareness of Egypt’s national history.
Present at the symposium were: Major General Mohamed Hassan El-Soul, historian and military analyst. Mr. Ahmed Hosni Mohamed Shafiq. Captain Saad El-Sabbagh.
The symposium addressed Martyr’s Day (March 9), the day Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Riad was martyred at the beginning of the War of Attrition, and highlighted the importance of new generations being aware of these national events. The symposium also touched on the celebration of raising the Egyptian flag over Taba, emphasizing the Egyptian people’s significant role in supporting the army to achieve victories, especially in the glorious October War.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Asaad Al-Kiki, Dean of the College, congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and emphasized the sense of pride and dignity that the October victory left in the hearts of Egyptians. Professor Dr. Islam Amin also emphasized the importance of students learning about their country’s history and the importance of attending such seminars to enhance their national awareness.
The symposium concluded with a ceremony honoring the guests and presenting the college with a commemorative medal in appreciation of their participation. The college administration also affirmed its commitment to introducing its students to Egypt’s rich history and instilling national values in them.
